Please note: Carolina Elk Lodge’s private mountain setting means the driveway is steep and, particularly in winter, AWD/4WD (and occasionally chains) are required for safe access. This ensures a peaceful, secluded experience far from through-traffic and crowds—yet you’re still close to all the action. Check-in and Check-out Procedures

  • Check-in after 4pm. Check-out by 10am.
  • Must electronically sign an additional Rental Agreement Terms and Conditions and any Neighborhood Rules sent by Host (property manager) or entry information cannot be sent.
  • Must be at least 25 years old to reserve. This person is required to be the person signing the agreement and must be one of the persons staying in the property for the reserved dates.

  • The home is located down a private road with no through-traffic for privacy.
  • The town of Beech Mountain requires AWD/4WD and sometimes chains as well. The home has a paved, but steep driveway.

Policies and Rules

  • CANCELLATION POLICY - Bookings canceled 60+ days before arrival will receive a refund of the deposit. Bookings canceled between 31-59 days before arrival will receive a refund of half of the deposit. Bookings canceled within 30 days of arrival are not entitled to a refund unless the reservation dates are rebooked to another guest. All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
  • This is not a pet friendly home. Pets are not allowed.
  • No smoking allowed.
  • Minimum age: 25 years.
  • Children allowed.
  • No events allowed.
  • No parties or gatherings above the posted occupancy allowed at any time. Keep outside noise respectable.
  • Do not leave food or trash outside as it could attract animals. All trash must be bagged and placed in the trash receptacle indicated in the Welcome Book inside the house or your digital guidebook.

Fees and Payments

  • Firewood may be purchased at the time of booking or with a week's notice. You receive two wrapped, kiln-dried bundles and a Firestarter for $25 plus tax per night.
  • All bookings are subject to a $50 cancellation fee (see cancellation policy above).

  • The home has a paved, but steep driveway.
  • The town of Beech Mountain requires AWD/4WD and sometimes chains as well.
  • Free parking is available onsite.

  • High-speed internet is provided.
  • Towels and bed linens are provided.
  • Kitchen is stocked with cooking basics and utensils.
  • Climate control (heating/cooling), dishwasher, clothes washing machine, and clothes dryer are available.
  • Hair dryer is provided.
  • There is a starter set of paper products: a roll of toilet paper per bath, a couple of garbage bags, a small vial of dishwashing liquid, a few tablets of dishwasher detergent, some laundry pods, a roll of paper towels, hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some makeup remover cloths. There are enough of these items for one night, or maybe two.

Safety and Emergency Information

  • Smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector are present in the home.
  • Please note that there are 3 exterior cameras for the driveway. No cameras point at the home or on any of the common areas and the cameras are not actively monitored during guest visits. #1 is on the front deck facing the front door. #2 is on the back deck overlooking the view and back porch. #3 is on the back deck facing the porch and a big bird/squirrel feeder.
